THE BECOMING

JANA is a struggling young Australian woman facing eviction and unemployment when she learns she was adopted and is secretly descended from one of Europe’s wealthiest families. Summoned to Prague for the reading of her late great-aunt’s will, Jana arrives at the family’s isolated chateau, where she meets a group of relatives all competing for the same vast inheritance. The rules are simple: remain inside the estate until sunrise, make no contact with the outside world, and survive the night. But the Bakala fortune carries a violent history. Generations of greed, betrayal and unexplained deaths have left something evil within the chateau.

As a storm closes in, Jana begins seeing figures in mirrors and reflections, while a supernatural force moves through the family, exploiting their jealousy and resentment and turning them against one another. As the night descends into murder and madness, Jana discovers the truth about her birth, her connection to the estate and the mysterious gardener who claims to be her biological father. One by one, the remaining heirs are consumed by the curse until Jana is left fighting for her life. She eventually escapes the chateau and battles the demonic presence pursuing her, seemingly destroying it before reaching Charles Bridge at sunrise. Bloodied and exhausted, Jana believes she has survived and won the fortune.

But when she looks into a puddle beneath her, the demon appears in the reflection and drags her inside. Jana travelled to Prague searching for family, belonging and a new life. Instead, she inherits something far darker.
